    Transient Performance Improvement of Digital Average Current Controlled Multiphase Interleaved Buck Converter

    Digital average current (DAC) control has high accuracy, strong anti-interference ability, and easy to realize current sharing and overcurrent protection. It is very suitable for multiphase interleaved parallel converters. However, the load transient response of the DAC control is too slow. This paper analyzes the principle of DAC control and its transient performance in detail, and proposes load current compensation to improve the system's transient response speed. Simulation results verify the theoretical analysis.</p

    Test Platform for Rapid Prototyping of Digital Control for Power Electronic Converters

    In this work we present a test platform for the rapid prototyping of power electronic converters. The platform consists of a Texas Instruments (TI) digital-signal-controller (DSC) TMS320F28379D connected to an Opal-RT real-time digital simulator capable of hardware-in-the-Ioop (HIL) simulations. Both the HIL simulator and the DSC are programmed based on Matlab/Simulink, with the latter making use of the embedded coder for the C2000 processors family. The proposed test platform allows high flexibility and fast development for control of power electronic converters, all based on a single software development environment. A complete specification of the platform components and a corresponding step-by-step implementation is presented. An example of a grid connected single-phase T-type converter illustrates the system operation and the platform capabilities.</p

    Incorporation of energy storage units to solar PV plants in small-scale applications has been attracting major attention from the manufacturers worldwide in the past few years. This consolidated into both technology development and commercialization. Most of the solar PV inverter manufacturers nowadays have adopted battery storage as part of their product portfolio offered together with their solar inverters. Some also provide standalone battery storage units to the consumers that can directly cooperate with the existing solar PV plants and/or loads. Despite short-term regulatory risk, the application seems still viable in the long term, where the key business case lies in the reduced cost of electricity bills and the ever-decreasing capital costs of solar PV and storage. In due course, distribution grid operators have become concerned about the possible reduced revenue from the existing tariff model due to the increasing level of self-sufficiency of the consumers. The paper summarizes the background, ideas and the initial results from the work in a Danish project whose activities cover both the technology development and operational analysis of PV and storage systems
